Fruit drop can occur for several reasons.
Firstly, it is the plant's natural way of reducing an overloaded fruit crop and allowing the remaining fruit to mature fully.
Secondly, the weather, too much rain - reducing number of flowers successfully pollinated; not enough sun and/or late frosts can also lead to fruit drop.
Thirdly, there are various diseases that can cause fruit drop: Peach leaf curl, bacterial canker or Brown rot.
