Cottonseed Meal is a beneficial all round garden fertiliser - though you have to be careful using it as too much will increase the acidity of your soil - which may or may not be good, depending on what you are growing. If you want to use it often then counter the acidity with some lime.
If you are growing Azalea or Rhododendron then they love acidic soils anyway.
It has high organic content which aerates tight, dense soils and aids in retaining moisture in light, sandy soils.
It contains generally around N7, P3, K2 and will promote good growth, especially leaf growth due to the amounts of nitrogen. This also makes it good for turf too.
