Just over 400 hectares in size, Kings Park and Botanic Garden is one of the world’s largest inner city parks. Located just a few minutes from the Perth CBD, Kings Park is famous for its tree-lined avenues and sweeping vistas of Perth City, the Swan and Canning Rivers and the Darling Range.
Kings Park includes the world renowned Western Australian Botanic Garden. The 17 hectare gardens display about 2,300 species of mainly Western Australian plants. Two thirds of Kings Park is managed bushland with walking tracks, native flora and wildlife to delight visitors.
Six million visitors each year enjoy the many highlights of a visit to Kings Park and Botanic Garden, the stunning views; strolling along the many lawns; enjoying the gardens, cafes and galleries, picnics or many outdoor activities.
There are several areas designed for children including Rio Tinto Naturescape, a learning and discovery area for children to connect with nature. It is a place to explore, climb rocks and ropes, wade through creeks, build cubbies and get dirty.

The Visitor Information Centre open daily and provides a free information and advice service.
Restaurants There are restaurants and/or cafes by the information centre, at the Lottery West Family Area and the Synergy Parkland.
Disabled Visitors The gardens cater really well for disabled visitors. ACROD parking is available throughout the park and most paths are suitable for wheelchairs. There are toilets in the Visitors Centre, Saw Picnic Area, Synergy Parkland,Lottery West Family Area, the Botanic Gardens Car Park and at Naturescape.

Picnic Areas and Barbeques Free electric barbeques and picnic tables are located at Synergy Parkland, the Saw Avenue Picnic Area and Pines Picnic Area. Ample areas of lush lawn provide ideal locations for picnics.
Play Area The Park has several play areas suited to children of all ages. Check the park website for details and maps.
Shops and Galleries Kings Park has its own gallery and gift shop offering an outstanding range of Australian gifts with proceeds being reinvested into Park. The Aboriginal Art Gallery exhibits works from WA and NT.
Kings Park and Botanic Gardens are only 1.5km from the Perth CBD and easily accessed by bus and car. The No 37 bus operates directly to Kings Park. A network of paths provide excellent pedestrian and bicycle access.
