Lilium regale is a bulbous perennial that produces stems 2 metres high that bear racemes of very fragrant, trumpet shaped flowers.
The blooms, which are up to 14 cms in length, are white tinged with pink and have a deep yellow throat.
They are, like many other Lilies, spectacular to look at - in the garden or as cut flowers indoors.
Due to their height they are best in borders in cottage style settings.
