Tanacetum cinerariifolium or the Pyrethrum Daisy is a pretty perennial that forms a compact mound of fragrant, silvery green, lacey foliage and masses of daisy flowers held aloft on slender stems.
The flowers are typical daisy with white ray flowers with a golden centre.
This is an excellent companion plant, especially in veggie patches where it will deter insects like aphids, leafhoppers, spider mites, harlequin bugs and ticks which can be a major problem otherwise.
These are not only useful, they are a pretty addition to any garden style, going well in borders and larger pots, but especially when combined with other flowering annuals and perennials in a mixed border.
Once established they will be fairly drought tolerant and are well suited to gravel and water-wise gardens.
