Sycopsis sinensis is a rather elegant small, multi-stemmed evergreen tree with an upright spreading habit of growth featuring glossy, evergreen and broadly ovate, veined leaves.
In late winter to early spring brushes of soft and pretty, egg yellow flowers with long red anthers are produced to provide welcome colour before other plants bloom.
Closely related to witchazel you can use this elegant small tree with smooth grey bark as an ornamental or for screening.
Although from cooler climates this tree will withstand Australian heat in the cooler coastal areas, but probably not so much inland.
