Overview
Diospyros kaki, Persimmon is a deciduous tree with spreading branches and rounded dome on a single trunk.
It has dark green oval leaves that turn a spectacular shade of orange in autumn.
The flowers are small and creamy and turn to orange or yellow fruit that are 8cm across and very juicy.
Soil: Moist, well drained soils.
Maintenance: Mulch well and keep up the water in dry conditions.

Comments: The Persimmon is a valued fruit in North Asia. Name comes from the Greek Dios meaning divine and puros meaning grain.
