Macrozamia communis or the Burrawang is a very attractive ornamental cycad that has a thick woody trunk that is partially underground but will extend above up to 1.8 metres above.
It has a crown of bright green palm like fronds that arch gracefully outward.
It produces many male and female cylindrical cones up to 40 cms long which, when specially prepared are a favourite Aboriginal bush tucker.
