Alamanda cathartica 'Cherry Ripe' is a vigorous and handsome climber or shrub with lance shaped leathery leaves and beautiful, deep pink with a dark red throat, trumpet shaped flowers that are produced throughout summer.
Its thick foliage makes a good screen as it is an evergreen.
It does not like dry, hot winds which will make the foliage dry out and scorch.
It does however prefer warm, moist climates and grows more fully in the tropics, but will survive happily as far south as Sydney providing it has a sheltered location.
