Prunella incisa is a creeping perennial that produces upright, erect stems atop which hold violet to pink tubular flowers. Blooming starts in spring and goes on through to late summer.
They make a good ground cover for borders that feature taller plants when you need something underneath as contrast.
They are also famously good at deterring blackspot on Roses so are well known as an underplanting for this purpose.
Take care that they don't spread too far as they can be considered invasive if left un-controlled.
They go well on banks and in wildlife gardens being a good attractant for bees and other beneficial insects to your garden
