Euphorbia pseudocactus as its name suggest could be easily mistaken for a cactus. It has a multibranched candelabra shape and grows to up to 1m tall.
The stems are thick, swollen with upright ridges. Along the ridges are pairs of evenly spaced grey-brown spines.
The stems is not straight, they narrow and widen and appear to be made up of triangular sections. In the dips between the ridges yellow V shaped markings can be seen.
From Late Winter to Summer small yellow flowers are borne along the ridges towards the stem tip.
This species makes an attractive addition to a frost free rockery.
In cooler climates it can be grown inside as a pot plant.
