A low growing tulip with bright red flowers that have bowl shaped flowers with six pointed petals and purple centres. They tend to open and remain broad faced whilst in bloom from early to mid springtime. The foliage is narrow and greyish green.
They go very well in courtyard gardens especially as edging or on the Patio in pots planters and tubs. Being relatively simple shape, Tulipa linifolia make excellent cut flowers to provide contrast when combined with the more complex and exotic tulip varieties.
