Cotoneaster lacteus or Parney's Cotoneaster is a stiff branched shrub that is semi-evergreen and grows in a spreading manner, forming an irregular outline.
It has oval leaves that are mid-green above, while the undersides are covered in woolly white hairs (tomentose).
Clusters of white star shaped flowers appear scattered throughout the plant in early summer and are followed by glossy orange to red berries that grow profusely along the branches in late summer, lasting into winter.
It is a very tough plant and is quite frost hardy, making a good display when in flower.
N.B. Some cotoneasters can be a bit invasive, so check with local authorities to see if this species is a problem in your area.
