Syzygium australe Tiny Trev is a slowish growing, dense native with beautiful glossy leaves that start bronze and turn deep green.
As it responds well to clipping it can make an excellent hedge or is good in pots or tubs for topiary.
It also grows foliage right down to the ground, another good hedge feature.
The creamy white powder puff flowers turn to edible, bright red, crisp, fleshy fruit that make a good jam or a refreshing snack eaten raw.
"Tiny Trev" is a dwarf form of the species that makes a great low hedge and is an excellent substitute for Buxus, especially for those who prefer Australian natives.
