Anthemis tinctoria or Chamomile is a perennial that grows to a round bushy shape with wrinkled fern like leaves and a fabulous display of brilliant golden yellow daisy type flower heads.
These plants are so floriferous that the entire plant will be covered in flowers, completely hiding the foliage making a superb display, especially edging pathways.
In the wild they are often found on the dry hillsides of the Mediterranean.
The yellow flowers used to be harvested to make yellow dye hence the common name Dyer's Chamomille.
They are one of the best to add to an informal garden design and also go very well in mixed borders and herb gardens.
