Carrots are an adaptable crop in the home garden and give good yield for the space occupied.
All Season variety is known for being virus resistant, and is commonly grown in QLD and NSW but grows very well as far south as southern Tasmania.
Carrot root grows roughly 20 cm long and takes 70-80 days.
Deep sandy soil or heavy soil with good structure (e.g. plenty of organic matter included) allow roots to grow and expand quickly.
On clay soils, add coarse sand to improve texture, and organic matter to improve structure.
