Japanese tool makers, Kamaki have carved out a real market niche with this particular product.
It sells like hot-cakes probably because there isn’t much on the market quite like it. The Cut & Hold mechanism isn’t particularly unique, though it is very effective.
It is the combination of that with the 1.5m long handle that makes it such a useful garden tool. Essentially it is very simple – just a squeeze grip connected by a thick wire to the cutting head on the top.
Up at the business end there is a bypass blade and two plastic grips to hold onto the branch once it has been cut. This means you can gently lower the cuttings to the ground where you want them – your neighbours will probably like this feature as much as you do.
Most importantly the one and a half metre long handle allows you to trim those high hedges and low trees without having to get the ladder out.
There’s also a medium reach version at 650 mm long – but they require pretty much the same effort to use them . . and I have to say that is not much. They are very light and strong.
All moving parts can be disassembled for cleaning, sharpening or replacement.
The Kamaki Cut & Hold Long Reach Pruners are judged to be a first class garden product - our customers agree with it being one of the best selling products in the GardensOnline shop over a twelve year period.
