Iris domestica or the Leopard Lily is a rhizomatous perennial that grows in a clumping manner, producing sword shaped grey-green leaves that resemble those of an iris.
In summer it produces very distinctive, six petaled flowers that make a striking statement in mixed borders and larger mixed plant tubs and planters.
The flowers vary in colour from pinks, to yellow and orange. They are very pretty, a lighter petal covered with deeper colour spots hence their common name of Leopard Lily.
These are generally short-lived perennials and they prefer a warmer climate.
