Solandra maxima is an enormous, rampant, woody vine that has glossy green leaves and huge, yellow flowers, 25cm across, with a purplish stripe down the centre of each petal.
These appear in spring and summer.
In cooler climates it will be deciduous but in most areas of Australia it will be evergreen.
If grown in pots they will be restricted to a more manageable size, but best not kept on a patio as the foliage and flowers are toxic.
