Nerine bowdenii is a bulbous perennial with glossy green strap like leaves up to 30 cms long.
In autumn it produces umbels of five to ten pink blooms with reflexed petals on erect stems up to 60 cms long.
This plant provides spectacularly exotic colour in autumn and brings a gentle musky scent to the garden in the evenings.
They are best when planted en masse, either in a block or a thick row and will be the stars of your border.
The foliage follows the flowers and lasts through winter, undamaged by the cold.
