Tamarix ramosissima is a hardy, deciduous shrub or small tree with long, slender branches and small, greyish foliage that turns red in autumn. It has dark brown to purple bark.
In springtime it produces a very attractive display of long racemes of feathery pink flowers all along its branches.
Good in coastal locations and as a windbreak, screen or hedge.
They can withstand hot periods.
Its hardiness and ease of cultivation make this a popular garden plant.
This is a very long lived plant with specimens being recorded over 50 years old.
